Automatic meter reading

Most organisations can use automatic meter reading to measure, collect and record energy information that can be transmitted to a PC or over the Internet to create reports and analysis that will help towards better energy management.

Energy Survey Data Collection

When carrying out an energy survey, data collection should include a wide range of information that can best identify how and why energy is being used.

Half Hourly Meters

Half Hourly Meters are now in ever-increasing demand as the CRC and other energy legislation encourages half hourly meters to be installed at the earliest opportunity.

Half Hourly meters, or "00" electricity meters, have traiditonally been installed in buildings that have a peak load above 100kW. However, the benefits that are provided by these meters, means that many commercial buildings, and even homes, are now installing this technology.

Wind Energy

Wind energy is one of the most cost-effective methods of generating renewable power; with installation typically costing about £2500 to £5,000 per kWe

For building applications, wind turbines are usually available in outputs that range from 600 W to 3.6 MW

Obviously wind speed is the key factor to the success of any wind energy installation and whilst it is often said that wind turbines require a minimum wind speed of 4 m per second, ideally wind speed should be at least 7 m per second.

Reading Electricity Meters

Essentially, reading electricity meters will enable you to gather information needed to check the accuracy of your invoices. While this may seem unnecessary it's often surprising to see just how much difference there can be between the actual energy consumed within a building against the estimates (or even the meter readings) of the energy supplier. By reading energy meters yourself you can obviously got to eliminate some of the basic errors that can lead to you paying more than you should be your energy.

Smart Meters

Smart meters are a type of advanced meter for electricity, gas and water that enable you to collect, log and transmit half hourly consumption data from remote locations directly to a central data collection point. This means that the smart meter can gather information about consumption from all of the plant rooms in your building, site or entire property portfolio and send out information directly to your desktop PC and other media devices.

Smart Meter Benefits

Smart meters have many benefits over the old energy meters. Traditionally, the main function of a meter, whether it's gas, electricity or water, was to simply measure how much of a commodity is being used by customer, so that the supplier can bill them for that usage. However, smart meters provide many additional benefits on both a commercial and environmental level.
